The International Visegrad Fund is a donor organization established in 2000 by the governments of the Visegrad Group countries – Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The Visegrad Fund supports development of original approaches and cooperation across the countries.
In the project Knowledge transfer on drought issues due to climate change for Armenia (contract no. 22220260) it supports the transfer of knowledge and lessons learned gained through Visegrad cooperation in integrated drought management.
Project offers solutions for adapting to increasing severity and frequency of droughts caused by climate change, and for raise awareness on collaborative cross-sectoral drought related management.
The project supports the development of the Armenian Drought Management Community. The approach is rooted in supporting cooperation of the Visegrad drought experts with experts and drought management practitioners in Armenia. An integrated proactive approach to drought planning, adaptation and management is promoted.
The project is complementary to previous projects in Armenia, and the IDMP CEE programme. Knowledge and lessons learned from the V4 countries cooperation on Drought will be transferred along with the outcomes of the cooperation with Drought Management Centre for Southeast Europe.
