Mr Phonexay: Building Climate Resilience in Lao PDR

In this episode of the CREWS Interview Series, Mr. Phonexay Simmalavong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Water Resources at Lao PDR’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, discusses the country’s water management challenges and highlights how adopting Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) has been key in balancing agricultural and hydropower demands while protecting ecosystems. Mr. Phonexay also discusses the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration and how the CREWS program continues to support Lao’s progress towards sustainable water management and climate resilience.
