Water resources are a connector and articulator of progress across the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Climate Agreement, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the post-2020 biodiversity framework. Yet water resources management, measured through SDG indicator 6.5.1, is only at 54% achievement, and is currently not on track to meet the 2030 goal. This talk will highlight the current status of water resources management around the world, and demonstrate how countries are making progress towards a better management of their water resoures, in a multi-stakeholder environment that shows the all-of-society spirit, and by doing so, are boosting achievement of other water-related goals under the 2030 Agenda. |
