SDG 6.5 as the Connector for Sustainable Development

SDG target 6.5 on the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management focuses on water's crosscutting role in sustainable development, to facilitate achievement of SDG targets under just about every one of the Goals. Yet water is often considered a sector and dealt with in a silo, which runs contrary to the indivisible nature of the SDGs. In this talk, I will highlight how countries can use the monitoring of SDG 6.5 to identify opportunities for advancing in an integral way towards their development objectives, in an all-of-society way that brings together stakeholders, sectors and funding sources.
